Ten members of the Warriors present and past, plus families made their way to Carolina Stadium on Saturday, August 8 for a day filled with fun at Diamond Prospects' 8th annual Palmetto Games, an exhibition of South Carolina's top high school talent.
Our Warriors had access to the entire ballpark. They were given a tour to the bowels of America's premier facility: The hot spots included USC's locker room, media room, weight room and the coaches’ lobby, home of the National Championship trophies.
To top it all off, our boys were able to shag on the field during batting practice and bat boy in the dugouts when it was game time.
While some of the state's premium prospects stood as statuesque witnesses, our 9-10 year olds blanketed the outfield during BP, seldom letting a ball land or scoot to the wall!
While our first practice sat a week away and opening fall games are at the end of this month, the Warriors were in the Capitol City donning grey uniforms and turning heads during the "off-season".
A special thanks to the South Carolina baseball coaching staff for allowing our kids to enjoy an experience that most boys in this age range will never have the opportunity to do!
